China plays Jordan to salvage some honor

GUANGZHOU - China coach Jose Antonio Camacho wants nothing less than a victory against Jordan here on Wednesday, despite the host team having been eliminated from 2014 World Cup qualification.

The Chinese will meet Jordan at Guangzhou University Town stadium in what is basically a friendly as the visiting side has already qualified for the final round of cup qualification by topping the group. But the situation has not decreased the Spaniard's hunger for victory.

"Each game is of the same importance in my heart, no matter if it is a friendly or a formal one," said Camacho, who took charge of the national team last August. "We should always fight for victories.
