Conductor to visit Pyongyang

SEOUL - A prominent Republic of Korea conductor will visit Pyongyang this week to prepare for a planned joint concert in Paris by orchestras from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and from France, an official said on Monday.

Chung Myung-whun will visit from Tuesday to Thursday to make arrangements for the concert between the DPRK's Unhasu Orchestra and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, said the ROK's Unification Ministry spokesman.

The ministry must authorize all exchanges between the ROK and the DPRK.
