BEIJING - Washington is planning to engage Pyongyang to return to the Six-Party Talks, Glyn Davies, the United States special representative on Korean policy, said on Wednesday after arriving in Beijing.
The US wants to engage the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to pick up where the two sides left off last October, Davies said.
This is the first time since the death of Kim Jong-il on Dec 17 that Washington has tried to engage the DRPK to return to the talks. The international community is closely watching Pyongyang's attitude toward the Six-Party Talks under the new leadership.
