Xi reaffirms aid for Thailand's reconstruction

BEIJING - China will continue to actively observe and support Thailand's reconstruction efforts in the wake of its worst floods in 50 years, Vice-President Xi Jinping said as he continued his three-day visit to Thailand on Friday.

Beijing's earlier aid to the flood-hit country is testament to the notion that "China and Thailand are one family", Xi said during his visit on Friday morning to a flood-affected middle school near Bangkok.

Accompanied by Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, he handed out more than 100 tablet computers to students at the school.
