Water agency uses blog to press for payment

By Wang Hongyi | China Daily | Updated: 2011-12-23 08:33

SHANGHAI - The water authority in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, has turned to micro-blogging to press for the payment on a long overdue debt.

This week, the Nanjing water supply and saving management department made several postings on its micro blog, or Weibo, at weibo.com asking Nanjing Chemical Industries Co Ltd to pay sewage treatment fees that are several years overdue.

The department posted a payment record on its micro blog that shows the company, under the State-owned petroleum giant Sinopec, neglected to pay the fees in four of the six years from 2006 to 2011.
