Two pupils die in horse wagon accident

KUNMING - At least two pupils died and another 20 were injured, including three critically, after a horse-drawn wagon collided with a truck in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The accident took place shortly after noon on Wednesday when a wagon carrying 24 pupils collided with a truck on a highway in Qiubei county in the Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture, in the southeastern part of the province.

Li Jianbo, an official with at the publicity office of the county, told China Daily that the 24 pupils were on their way home from a local school when the collision occurred. One student was killed instantly, and another died in hospital.
