Baby is marrow donor for sisters

A 1-year-old boy has become a bone marrow donor to save his older twin sisters, who have the blood disease thalassemia.

The boy's father, Song Yuanxiang, a poor farmer from Zunyi, Guizhou province, said doctors at Nanfang Hospital in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, suggested he and his wife have a child to serve as a marrow donor. The boy was born in 2009.
