Jilin province, in North China, is known for its icy beauty and freezing winters when things can be a bit difficult, but one resident of the city of Changchun, Wang Guiyun, said she's perfectly fine in her "warm home", thanks to a project that started in 2010, and has benefited more than a million people.

In the past, some of the city's older buildings had poor heating systems and when, for example, the province was struck by an especially cold winter in 2009, many heating pipes burst and the locals complained a lot.

Today, however, things have changed and people such as Wang stay comfortable at home where temperatures are "always 22 to 23 C".
