WIPO head: China's rise changing global intellectual property

As intellectual property problems become increasingly global, the solution also has to be global, said Francis Gurry, director general of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

"The nature of our challenge requires increased international cooperation," he said.

As technology rapidly advances and markets respond quickly, "it is very difficult for public policies to keep pace", he said.
