ICBC planning dim sum bond

Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd (ICBC) plans to sell a yuan-denominated offshore bond, according to a Fitch Ratings release.

The proceeds from the "dim sum" bonds issued by ICBC's Asian unit and sold in Hong Kong will be used by the Hong Kong-listed bank's subsidiary, Chinese Mercantile Bank. It would become the first Hong Kong entity to make a direct yuan investment into the mainland, the ratings company document said.

Dell releases Latitude tablet

Dell Inc on Thursday released the Latitude ST tablet PC, which is one of the few tablet PCs to use Microsoft Corp's Windows 7 operating system. The Latitude ST will target the business sector, including healthcare and education, Dell said in a news release. However, the company and representatives from Microsoft and Intel Corp, which provides the central processing unit for the tablet PC, declined to speculate on the Latitude ST's potential market share.
