Ex-sailor quits job to care for mum-in-law

A 61-year-old man in Wuhan, Hubei province, resigned from his job and its 10,000-yuan ($1,600) monthly salary to better take care of his mother-in-law.

Qiu Genyuan, a sailor, retired in 2005 and then was employed by the branch of a Norwegian shipping company in Jiangsu province. He refused the company's contract extension in July by saying he wanted to concentrate on taking care of his 90-year-old mother-in-law.
