Obama ups war of words with Teheran

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama said on Thursday that officials at the "highest levels" of the Iranian government must be held accountable for the plot to assassinate Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, on American soil.

At a news conference tied to the state visit of South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, he insisted leaders of the world will believe the US case without dispute once they absorb the details.

Iran, in turn, has called the US allegations baseless.
