Huawei plans design centers
Huawei Technologies Co, China's biggest maker of phone equipment, plans to have design centers in the US and UK as part of its quest to build a global consumer brand.
Centers in London and San Francisco would join eight existing design centers around the world, Hagen Fendler, chief of device design, told a news conference in Beijing on Thursday.
Georg Fischer unveils second factory
Georg Fischer Ltd, a leading car parts supplier and engineering group, unveiled its second factory in China in a week on Thursday, as part of the Switzerland-based company's strategy to more than double its sales in China by 2015.
The 8,000-square-meter factory in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, has a total investment of 80 million yuan ($12 million).
"The inauguration of the two plants in China shows our strong commitment and our strong confidence in the future development of the Chinese market," said Yves Serra, the company's CEO.
China Mobile's growth to slow
China Mobile Ltd expects growth to slow as call rates decline and the market becomes more saturated, Chairman Wang Jianzhou said on Thursday in Hong Kong.
China Mobile has 9.5 million customers on its network who use Apple Inc's iPhone, Wang said. Wang had a meeting with US broadband service provider Clearwire recently, and China Mobile is looking to sales of data services and machine-to-machine communications to boost growth, Wang said.
