SOEs register rise in profits

The total realized profits of Chinese State-owned enterprises (SOEs) rose 21.9 percent in the first eight months from the same period a year ago to 1.53 trillion yuan ($239 billion), the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on its website on Monday.

ADM and Jiusan sales agreement

Archer Daniels Midland Co (ADM), a worldwide food production company, has entered into a $100 million sales agreement with Jiusan Oils and Grains Group, said Pat Quinn, the governor of the US state of Illinois on Monday.

Lenovo to set up new center

Lenovo Group Ltd has announced that it will set up a new operations, research and development center in Zhongguancun Software Park, a high-tech area in Beijing. The 220,000-square-meter center will become operational within three years and will employ more than 10,000 staff.
