Manning to miss Colts' opener

NEW YORK - Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has been ruled out of Sunday's season-opener against the Houston Texans, having not fully recovered from a neck operation in May, the team said on Wednesday.
The four-time MVP had been sidelined throughout most of the preseason after undergoing surgery and only recently was taken off the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, which allowed for some limited practice.
However, on Monday the team listed him as doubtful for Sunday's game, saying the recovery from his neck operation had slowed and that he must stop practicing.
