Asian parties should 'strengthen relations'
NANNING - Asian political parties should strengthen coordination and cooperation and focus more on the development of the region amid an international economic recession, a Communist Party of China (CPC) official said on Tuesday.
"Development is the key in tackling the global challenges for Asian political parties," Ai Ping, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said at a news briefing held after the closing ceremony of the Conference on Development and People's Access organized by the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Ai said improving the livelihood of all people is the ultimate goal of the CPC, and strengthening the coordination and cooperation in development with other Asian political parties will be the primary goal in the second decade of the ICAPP.
