NEW YORK - The New York Police Department (NYPD) collected intelligence on more than 250 mosques and Muslim student groups in and around New York, often using undercover officers and informants to canvas the Islamic population of the largest city in the United States, according to officials and confidential, internal documents obtained by The Associated Press.
