Cooperation at a deeper level is vital

Vice-Minister of Commerce Wang Chao is calling for "deeper cooperation" to achieve a successful 15th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Sept 7 to 11.

"The Ministry of Commerce will continue cooperating with local governments in Fujian province and the city of Xiamen to integrate resources for a good start for this year's CIFIT," Wang said last month at a meeting on the preparation for the event.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of China joining the World Trade Organization, the 30th anniversary of Xiamen Special Economic Zone and the start of China's 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), so "the world has a higher expectation for this year's CIFIT, and higher requirements for organizers", said Ye Shuangyu, vice-governor of Fujian province.
