MANILA, the Philippines - Nothing feels quite as comforting when traveling in another country as finding something reminiscent of home. In Manila, the "Chinese Garden" serves as a reminder for many Chinese nationals.

Featuring a Chinese-style pavilion, a rock hill and a small pond, the garden is embraced by trees and decorated with a monument of Confucius. Scattered about are plaques inscribed with famous proverbs.

In the mornings, schoolgirls in white and purple-red uniforms play in the garden as couples slowly stroll by.
