Boy kills himself as grandma shops

A 12-year-old boy in Xuanhan county, Sichuan province, committed suicide by hanging himself with his clothes after his grandmother told him he could not go out with her.

The death occurred on Aug 16, when the grandmother, whose surname is Wu, went out to buy some vegetables. Before she left, she was asked by the boy if he could go with her. She replied that she wanted him to stay at home to do his homework. She then locked the door and went to the vegetable market. The boy had come to live with his grandmother in January after his parents had moved to work as migrant workers.
