Transparency guidelines set for charity information

The Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) announced on Aug 23 that all donation information should be released to the public within a month after a contribution arrives, the Beijing Times reported. Donation information concerning "significant events" should be released within 24 hours, the ministry said. In addition, China's first philanthropy law has been submitted to the State Council by MCA, the newspaper said.
