DPRK's leader visits northeast province

DAQING, Heilongjiang - Kim Jong-il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited Northeast China's Heilongjiang province on Friday in the company of Dai Bingguo, a Chinese State Councilor.

Dai was entrusted to meet Kim by Hu Jintao, Chinese president and general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. During their conversation, Dai conveyed sincere greetings from Hu.

Kim, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the chairman of the DPRK National Defense Commission, thanked China for its warm hospitality and conveyed his sincere greetings to Hu.
