Soc-Gen unveils UnionPay card

Societe Generale SA launched its first yuan-denominated UnionPay debit card on Thursday to tap into its fast-growing personal banking business in China.

Personal banking currently contributes less than 10 percent to the company's total revenue but the figure is expected to exceed 20 percent in the future, said Pierre Bonzom, chief executive officer of Commercial and Personal Banking at Societe Generale (China) Ltd.

Hanvon releases new e-reader

Hanvon Technology Co Ltd, China's leading manufacturer of e-readers and tablet PCs, released a new e-reader with its latest Dual-Touch ERT (electromagnetic resonance technology) on Wednesday.

The technology, which allows users to control the display with both fingers and an input pen, will be integrated in Hanvon's other products at a future date.

Hanvon currently has more than 150,000 books on its online bookstore available for its users.
