Girl turns to art, music to recover from harassment

A 17-year-old girl from Taiwan who has been sexually harassed nearly 40 times since she turned 10 has returned to school after undergoing two years of counseling.

Xiao Ying, who was often sexually harassed by her dad's friend after her parents' divorce, went to a mental institution when she was in seventh grade because she was suffering from mental illness. Her dad, who was unemployed after his divorce, has refused to visit her in the institution. While being treated, Xiao Ying mutilated herself. She cut her scars with ballpoint pens, saying she wanted to "get the dirty stuff out of her blood".
