China Daily | Updated: 2011-08-13 07:49

BEIJING - In response to safety concerns, China CNR Corp plans to recall 54 high-speed trains that ran on the high-speed railway stretching from Beijing to Shanghai, the company said on Friday.

In a statement posted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's website, the Shanghai-listed train maker said it has asked the Ministry of Railways for approval to recall 54 of its high-speed CRH 380BL trains.

Before the recalls, China CNR Corp had decided to halt deliveries of its CRH 380BL trains, saying their automatic braking systems contain flaws.
