Red Cross Society of China puts data online
The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), a government-sponsored charity organization, launched a pilot online database on July 31 to disclose donation information and provide more transparency to the public, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Information on donations to the RCSC national organization after January 11 of last year is available on the database, whereas information about donations to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation and the RCSC's local branches is not, due to technical reasons, according to a statement from the RCSC.
