Star-studded line-up not a headache for coach
Chinese players of Guangzhou Evergrande face stiff competition to retain their places on the team after an influx of foreign players - the latest being two-time Brasileiro best player Dario Conca, but head coach Lee Jang-soo is not feeling any pressure in deciding his starting line-up.
Amid the raucous shouting of "Conca, Conca" inside the packed Guangzhou Tianhe Stadium, the 28-year-old Argentinian made a 25-minute debut in Thursday's game against Nanchang Hengyuan, which Guangzhou won 5-0. His first goal in China, in the 85th minute, even made local fans forget about former midfield star Zheng Zhi, who missed the game due to suspension.
The presence of Brazilians Muriqui and Cleo has also reduced positions for local players up front and in the midfield, and has left domestic striker Gao Lin as the only Chinese to regularly feature in the team's attack.
