Following a poll by the Beijing transport commission that found only 46 percent of residents believe the traffic situation is improving, China Daily asked residents what they think about the limit on new car registrations and whether congestion is easing.

"I don't think the city's traffic conditions are improving or clearly improving. Traffic jams still occur, sometimes even worse than before. The license plate lottery and the raising of parking fees may work in the short term, but these can't solve the problem in the long run. The key is more drivers observing the traffic rules."
