Air China Chairman Kong Dong said at the ceremony marking the event in Beijing that the airline will continue to upgrade its services, and a fundamental transformation can be expected in three to five years.

The airline plans to add 56 new aircraft to its fleet between July and the end of 2012, including an unspecified number of wide-body planes, such as Boeing 777-300ERs and Airbus 330-200s.
