GM plant plan approved
The environmental assessment by General Motor's joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp has been approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection for expansion of its factory in Shenyang, Liaoning province.
The 7 billion yuan renovation will bring the facility's capacity to 300,000 vehicles and 450,000 engines annually. Nearly 70 million yuan will be used on environmental protection at the site.
