Free eye-checks for poor Dalian residents
Citizens in Dalian, Liaoning province, may get a chance to receive a free ophthalmic check as the national Eye-care Day approaches, Dalian-based news website runsky.com reported. The project, jointly launched by Lions Clubs International and privately-owned He Eye Hospital, will help low-income patients to receive affordable cataract surgery, the report said, adding that hundreds of people are expected to benefit from the project. Currently, there are more than 5,000 patients who have lost their sight because of cataracts in Dalian, the report said.
