Xi to tour Italy, Latin America: FM
BRUSSELS / BEIJING - Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping will make official visits to Italy, Cuba, Uruguay and Chile from June 1 to 13 and attend the ceremony marking the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Friday.
Xi was invited by Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, First Vice-President of Cuban Council of State Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Uruguayan Vice-President Danilo Astori and Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in a press release.
Xi is scheduled to arrive in Rome on June 1 to deliver China's congratulatory greetings for the country's 150th anniversary of unification. He will fly to Milan on June 3 to meet business representatives from both sides.
