Sex ratio a cause for worry

According to the sixth national census, the gender imbalance in China is growing. In the future, we could see more single women in cities and more single men in rural areas. This is a problem that needs urgent government attention, says an article in Shanghai Business. Excerpts:

Latest census data show that there are 105.20 men for every 100 women in the country, but the sex ratio at birth (female = 100) has reached 118.06.
