LONDON / BEIJING - Counter-terrorism is set to be a top issue as G8 leaders gather for their first summit since the death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

The G8 summit, scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Deauville, northwestern France, will provide an opportunity to discuss how to step up counter-terrorism efforts in the post-bin Laden era.
