Zeng Jinchun, former deputy Party secretary of Chenzhou city, Central China's Hunan province, said before his execution last December for accepting bribes, China Youth Daily reported on May 6. The verdict said he accepted bribes worth 31.23 million yuan ($4.73 million) during his tenure from 1997 to 2006. When he was arrested in 2006, local residents celebrated with fireworks.
