PICC premium income surges
PICC Group, China's second-largest insurance group, saw its premium income standing at 110.1 billion yuan ($16.6 billion) on Monday, exceeding the total for the whole of 2010, the company's management said on Tuesday.
"The group's profitability has reached a record high," said Zhou Shurui, supervisory chairman. The group has been preparing for listings on both the H- and A-share markets, and will introduce strategic investors within one to two months.
GE launches diagnosis device
GE Healthcare has accelerated expansion in China's rural market with the launch of a portable and mobile phone-sized diagnosis device in Beijing on Wednesday.
The mobile device helps doctors to collect and transfer physical information about patients in remote areas and increase diagnostic efficiency, the company said.
Deer Jet gets Airbus plane
Deer Jet Co Ltd of Beijing, the nation's largest provider of chartered plane services, took delivery of the first Airbus Corporate Jetliner in China on Wednesday to increase its ability to meet growing demand in the top-end corporate jet market.
Zhang Peng, Deer Jet's vice-president, said that the company is expecting annual market growth of 50 percent during the next five years.
Shiseido makes up in China
The China sales revenue of Shiseido Co Ltd will increase to more than 10 percent of the Japanese cosmetics company's global business this year. That's despite the March 11 tsunami and nuclear crisis, the company said on Wednesday.
PE organizations launched
The Yunnan Equity Development Center and Yunnan Private Equity Association were launched on Tuesday in Kunming, the capital of the southwestern province. The organizations will play a significant role in making the city a regional financial center, said Liu Guang, director-general of financial services of the Yunnan provincial government.
Architecture expo to be held
The 16th China International Eco-Architecture, Building Materials and Urban Service Expo will be held between Sept 15 and 17 in Langfang, Hebei province. This year's expo will stress the theme of "green eco-architecture and the low-carbon city".
Internet of Things exhibit
The Internet of Things China 2011 Conference and Exhibition will be held on June 16 and 17 in Shanghai, said the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on Wednesday.
The conference will focus on existing and potential application scenarios and new services, especially in the areas of automobiles, medical care and intellectual transport systems.
