LONDON - The Chinese embassy in the United Kingdom held a forum on Tuesday to celebrate the centennial of the Hsinhai Revolution, commonly known as the 1911 Revolution.

London was a special place for Sun Yat-sen, the leader of the revolution, who is regarded as the forerunner of China's democratic revolution.

"Sun visited the UK twice, separately in 1896 and 1904, to call for a revolution against the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)," said Liu Xiaoming, China's ambassador to the UK.
