HKJC lends a hand to Sichuan

When news of the Sichuan earthquake struck, the HKJC made an immediate HK$30 million ($3.86 million) donation to relief efforts, then organized a public fundraising campaign that brought in a further HK$9.5 million.

In addition, the HKJC pledged an unprecedented HK$1 billion toward post-earthquake reconstruction, with the aim of contributing to the province's sustainable growth and development.

Reconstruction projects supported by the HKJC include a hospital, training services and equipment for a rehabilitation center, junior and senior high schools, facilities for the handicapped, vocational training and an Olympic school for athletes.
