Chen Gangyi has been walking up and down the back lanes of Shanghai, capturing with his camera the disappearing scenes in shikumen (stone lintel) houses and the life in these traditional communities. "Most of the old houses were demolished," Chen says, "and unless someone records it, the shared memories of us who grew up in the lanes - will be lost."
