Coordinated drivers
The BRICS Leaders Meeting starting today in Sanya, South China's Hainan province, should be listened to carefully if the global economy is to pull itself out of the worst recession in more than 70 years any time soon.
This will be the first attendance by South Africa, enlarging the group of emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India and China - to form BRICS.
The significance of this club of key emerging countries not only lies in their sheer size - although the BRICS countries accommodate some 42 percent of the world's population - more importantly, their remarkable growth momentum and potential have made each of them a vital driving force behind regional and global growth.
