For Toronto natives, Sam The Record Man was a beloved institution on Yonge Street that is still sorely missed. It was where three generations of music lovers stocked up on their favorite artist or discovered new ones. Imagine my surprise to find a shop with exactly the same name - in Hong Kong's IFC mall. Hoping that it was a miraculous resurrection, I set out to investigate.
