Work is washing away old favorite

Bathhouses used to be a major part of Beijing society, but in recent years most have been demolished to make way for new buildings. How do you feel about the remaining ones facing the bulldozers?
It's a really sad topic. Many of us have great memories of bathhouses. In the past, as no families had showers or baths at home, everybody would go to the public bathhouses. It wasn't pricey. I remember it cost just 2 jiao.
I used to have the option of going to three places, including Qinghuachi, the very famous bathhouse in the old Xuanwu district, which is still there but looks very different today.
