Former teacher trades classroom for animal shelter

A Taiwan woman, who lost her job as a teacher because she spent too much time taking care of stray dogs, recently died in an accident and left dozens of animals unattended and mourning for her.

The woman, surnamed Hong, was a Chinese language teacher at a vocational school in southern Taiwan. She was dismissed two years ago after students complained of her dozing off in class because she was tired from looking after so many stray canines.
