Gay radio station finds acceptance

The Colorful Xinjiang Gay Love Broadcast refers to a gay radio station that emerged in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in 2007.

Its founder, Xiao Dai, was promoting it in a bar, when a director from the mainstream Wuchang Music Radio Station chanced upon him and invited him to co-host a call-in talk show on gay topics.

Earlier, Xiao had applied successfully to a local health department in 2004 for anti-AIDS work among gay people. That was when he started Colorful Xinjiang Gay Love Broadcast.
