Tencent's 2m yuan quake aid

On March 11, the Tencent Foundation, a charity fund established by the Internet service portal Tencent Inc, pledged to donate 2 million yuan ($304,000) to earthquake-stricken Yingjiang county in Southeast Yunnan province, gongyi.qq.com reported. A 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Yingjiang county this month, leaving 25 people dead and 250 injured as of March 10. Aside from the Tencent Foundation, other charity organizations, including the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, pledged donations as well.
