Sato's Family safe

BEIJING - While Atsushi Sato's situation still remains unclear, his wife and daughter are safe, Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday, citing one of his relatives who did not want to be identified.

Atsushi Sato, the senior managing director of Sato Seafood Ltd Co led a group of 20 Chinese trainees at the company who had escaped from their dormitory to safety at a nearby shrine on higher ground after the earthquake.

When the earthquake occurred on March 11, Sato's wife was in Ishinomaki city, Miyagi prefecture, 10 km from their home in Onagawa city. She now stays in one of the shelters in Ishinomaki, while his daughter is in Tokyo with relatives, the anonymous relative told Xinhua.
