China Daily | Updated: 2011-03-18 07:54

Editor's note: China Daily reporter Li Lianxing spoke to Feng Yi, a researcher at the China Nuclear Energy Association, about the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Q: Has the Japanese government released information about the crisis timely and properly?

A: Undoubtedly, there is an information lag. This is a very technical issue, so the release of information must go through a set of authoritative procedures, for instance from the initial information and data collection, to the local government, the Nuclear Safety Commission and the cabinet.
