Happiness is enjoying life each and every day

It was interesting to read in China Daily the other day about a survey by news website china.com.cn that found only 6 percent of Chinese people see themselves as "happy". So, in other words, we can infer that there are as many as 94 percent "unhappy" faces in the streets of this gigantic country.
However, just as one man's meat is another man's poison, different people measure "happiness" in different ways. In that same survey, almost 40 percent of respondents associated happiness with wealth.
In metropolises like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, where residents are bombarded daily with marketing blitz by the "big boys" of anything from everyday products to luxury non-essentials, you could be forgiven for thinking about how life would be good if and only if I own that thing.
