So the champagne has been guzzled, gushing congratulations offered to the winners, and lies of "you should have won" whispered to the losers, as the residents of Beverly Hills swayed not so soberly back to their mansions.

The usual cacophony of clichs will inevitably ensue as the front pages of the world's newspapers exclaim The King's Speech reigns, rules, hails, conquers (insert word here).

The pundits and critics are busy explaining away their failed predictions, the paparazzi chasing Hollywood's newly crowned royalty, and the diamond dealers demanding their loaned gems back.
