TRIPOLI, Libya - Libyan state television on Tuesday dismissed as "lies and rumors" allegations that security forces are carrying out a massacre of protesters who have risen up against the 41-year rule of Muammar Gadhfi.

"They say there are massacres in several cities, towns and neighborhoods of Libya. We must fight against these rumors and lies which are part of psychological warfare," wrote Al-Jamahiriya Two television on a red ticker.
